Illinois Police Officer Creates Custom Builds to Honor America's Everyday Heroes

“I plan to continue building custom trucks to honor our nation’s heroes.”

The custom builds showcased every year at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas are unique, over-the-top and totally bad-to-the-bone. What would you do if you saw one of these beastly builds driving by you in the street?

That fantasy is a reality for residents of Avon, Illinois and neighboring cities, thanks to police officer Bill Garrison. After helping the community through roles as a K9-officer and the DARE program, and hosting bicycle rodeos for local children, Bill started looking for a new way to give back and honor the everyday heroes around him, from fellow police officers to firefighters, EMTs and members of the military.

He decided to combine his passion for giving back with his other hobby, modifying cars. For SEMA 2016, LINE-X was proud to sponsor Bill’s 2016 Ford F-150 Platinum Edition Crew Cab, adding LINE-X’s unbeatable protective spray to the various parts of the truck. Working with the pros at Central Illinois LINE-X, the truck's fender flares, door jambs, rocker panels and bumpers were all prepped and sprayed with LINE-X. Bill modified every bit of the truck, from the wheels and tires to the suspension, engine and interior. The exterior boasts a ragged Thin Blue Line American flag and POLICE badging on the side.

But Bill wasn’t about to stop there. For SEMA 2017, he partnered with LINE-X again on a 2017 Ford Raptor, fully equipping it with emergency lighting, sirens, police badging and, of course nearly indestructible LINE-X protective coating throughout the vehicle.

Both wicked builds are worthy of being showcased; however, they aren’t just “pretty faces.” They also work full-time to give back to Bill’s community. Both police trucks faithfully serve Illinois and neighboring states as needed. Bill also loans out the trucks to escort fallen officers and soldiers in funeral processions, lead parades and assist other state agencies - at no cost to them. In this way, Bill feels he has used his talent and hobby to honor and create awareness for the men and women who serve and protect us, both here at home and overseas.

“I plan to continue building custom trucks to honor our nation’s heroes,” says Bill Garrison. We can’t wait to see your next amazing creation.
