Information We Collect Through Automatic Data Collection Technologies:

Interest-Based Advertising:

We work with third parties such as ad networks and other advertising companies that use their own tracking technologies (including cookies and pixel tags) on our Websites in order to provide you with tailored advertisements across the Internet. These companies may collect information about your activity on our Websites and third-party websites (such as web pages you visit and your interaction with our advertising and other communications) and use this information to make predictions about your preferences, develop personalized content and deliver ads that are more relevant to you on third-party websites. This information may also be used to evaluate the effectiveness of our online advertising campaigns. See “Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information” below for more information, including how you can opt out of interest-based advertising.

The technologies we use for this automatic data collection may include:

  • Cookies (or browser cookies). A cookie is a small file placed on the hard drive of your computer. You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of our Websites. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when you direct your browser to our Websites.
  • Web Beacons. Pages of our Websites may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit us, for example, to count users who have visited our web pages or opened an email we have sent and for other related website statistics and analysis (for example, recording the popularity of certain website content and verifying system and server integrity).
  • Analytics: We may use a third party such as Google Analytics to help us gather and analyze information about the areas visited on the Websites (such as the pages most read, time spent, search terms and other engagement data) in order to evaluate and improve the user experience and the Websites. These third parties may use cookies and other tracking technologies. For more information about Google Analytics or to prevent the storage and processing of this data (including your IP address) by Google, you can download and install the browser plug-in available at the following link:

We may also collect personal information indirectly, such as from our third-party advertising partners. We also collect information automatically when you visit our Websites as described above under “Information We Collect Through Automatic Data Collection Technologies”.

Disclosure and Transfer of Your Information

We may disclose aggregated information about our users, and information that does not identify any individual, without restriction.

We may disclose or transfer personal information that we collect or you provide as described in this Privacy Policy:

  • To our local owners of LINE-X stores (our franchisees).
  • To contractors, service providers, and other third parties (including subsidiaries and affiliates) we use to support our business (such as by hosting the Websites and providing analytics and advertising and marketing services) and who are bound by contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them. We and our service providers may access, store and otherwise process personal information outside of Canada (including, for residents of Quebec, outside of Quebec), including in the United States, Europe or other foreign jurisdictions, where we or our service providers are located.
  • To a buyer or other successor in the event of a proposed or completed merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of our assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by us is among the assets transferred.
  • For any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide your information.
  • Otherwise, with your consent.

We may also disclose your personal information:

  • To comply with any court order or other valid legal inquiry, law, or legal process, including to respond to any law enforcement, government or regulatory request, which may include lawful access by U.S. or foreign courts, law enforcement or other government authorities.
  • To investigate a breach of, enforce or apply our terms of use (https://www.linex.com/terms-of-use) and other agreements, including for billing and collection purposes.
  • If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims or to protect the rights, property, or safety of us, our customers, or others (including for suppressing or preventing fraud).
  • If otherwise permitted or required by applicable law.

Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information

We strive to provide you with choices regarding the personal information you provide to us. We have created mechanisms to provide you with the following control over your information:

Interest-Based Advertising.

You can opt out of receiving interest-based ads from third-party advertising companies that are members of the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”) on the NAI’s website or advertising companies participating in the Digital Advertising Alliance (US) at http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada at http://youradchoices.ca/choices.

Please note that even if you opt out of interest-based advertising by a third party, these tracking technologies may still collect data for other purposes, including analytics, and you will still see ads from us, but the ads will not be targeted based on behavioral information about you and may therefore be less relevant to you and your interests.

To successfully opt out, you must have cookies enabled in your web browser (see your browser’s instructions for information on cookies and how to enable them). Your opt-out only applies to the web browser you use so you must opt out of each web browser on each device you use.
